Parts Engineering - Course Coordinator
Parts Engineering is a vast discipline, with the need to incorporate a lot of information, from electronics fundamentals (how EEE components work, reliability, failure modes…) to manufacturer knowledge (costs, production, technologies, updates) including also knowledge of the different standards that govern the use of electronic devices.
This course is intended to introduce the parts engineering discipline, stressing the most relevant aspects that a parts Engineer must consider. The basics of space projects, why hi-rel parts are needed, specification systems, radiation and a detail explanation of more concrete tasks of the Parts Engineer. Examples and additional material will be given throughout the course. The course has been prepared by the Parts Engineering team in ALTER Technology, that together accumulate more than 30 years of experience in the space industry and have been involved in almost any ESA project.
- Building a knowledge base on electronics fundamentals of components and manufacturing.
- Introducing and subsequently going deeper into the main aspects to be taken into account in the parts engineering discipline
